Frankfurt and Rhein-Main startup programs
Use Frankfurt if your buyer is a bank, an insurer, a logistics operator, or a Hessen corporate. Haus lists 7 programs in the city hub. TechQuartier is the public living room, HOLM is the logistics annex, and LAUNCH Rhein-Main is the student on-ramp. Treat Accelerator Frankfurt as an advisory shop unless their site says otherwise, which it currently does not. The buyer gravity is real, and the useful rooms sit next to banks, logistics, and student incubators.
TechQuartier as the public room
TechQuartier puts the address on the homepage: Platz der Einheit 2, plus the local colour of Eintracht and Äppler. They claim 750-plus community members and more than 30 corporate, academic, and ecosystem partners. They sell corporate-startup introductions in financial services, ESG, and AgriFood. They also say the startup programs are free. Coworking is two floors and 240 desks, which is a product you can walk into. That combination is the useful sentence on the page.
If you need Bundesbank, ECB, or Deutsche Börse adjacency, this is the honest pitch. The Frankfurt program list is short enough that TechQuartier will keep showing up. If you need cheap collisions with operators between jobs, this city is a weak match. Read the free-program line, then ask which corporate introduction they can actually make this quarter. The coworking floors will not answer that by themselves.
Vertical programs around the seven
HOLM has run a two-year start-up support program for logistics and mobility since 2017. The community layer they opened in 2023 is free to join. That is a specialist door. Show up with a prototype or a freight problem. A fintech slide that mentions supply chain once will not do the work. The communities hub is the place to see whether that layer is the room you need.
LAUNCH Rhein-Main e.V. is the student-run incubator. They publish 103-plus founders, 32-plus companies, and 4.25 million euros raised by alumni teams, which are their numbers. They name a Futury partnership and winter batches, with academic potential as the raw material. If you still have a Matrikelnummer, start here before you try to raise in the banking district. Haus also lists Accelerator Frankfurt, Futury Hessen, Growth Alliance, CONTENTshift, and Social Impact Lab Frankfurt. We opened Accelerator Frankfurt: after ten years as Frankfurt’s first and only private, independent accelerator, they now describe themselves as an advisory connecting capital with founders in fintech, cybersecurity, and defence tech, so read that page before you apply to a batch that may no longer exist.
How thin the Frankfurt stack is
Seven programs is a thin stack next to Berlin’s 37 or Munich’s 33. That is fine if your constraint is a regulated buyer rather than density. Gravity here is banks, insurers, logistics operators, and Hessen corporates. Work where the counterparty sits. Keep a Berlin or Munich week when you need a different room, and use the open applications filter if you are timing a batch.
TechQuartier, HOLM, and LAUNCH cover living room, logistics, and student on-ramp. The remaining names on the accelerator list need a live page before you treat them as a cohort. Accelerator Frankfurt’s current copy is advisory. Moving to Sachsenhausen will not add more than the same seven cards. Pick the buyer first, then the room.
