Remote programs for German founders
You do not have to move to Berlin to use the German support stack. Of 310 active Haus programs in the August 2026 dump, nine are marked fully remote and 111 hybrid. The remote ones that still have an official page are uneven: xdeck takes no equity and no fee; Climate Founders is remote and writes a pre-seed cheque; German Accelerator is funded and 0% for international expansion. Hybrid still usually includes on-site days. Read the format line before you plan a move.
Remote that is actually remote
xdeck is the clean German version: Cologne-initiated, founders for founders, early-stage B2B software across Europe, no equity stake, and no fees. Batch 14 was open when we opened the page. The homepage does not print a duration. Do not invent one from a directory card. If the operator will not say how many weeks you are in, ask before you block the quarter.
Climate Founders is the other honest remote page, and it is the opposite deal. The accelerator URL says fully digital, almost no obligatory events, and tailored mentoring. Then comes the line that matters: they invest into your pre-seed, sized €200k to €2.5m, and help you find co-investors. Haus still tags it equity-free. The official page does not, so trust the cheque language on the operator site.
Hybrid still asks for a building
German Accelerator is the national remote-ish product: Kickstart, Market Discovery, Market Access, “fully funded, no equity taken,” and about four months if you stack the pitch. The work is international expansion rather than a Berlin desk. EXIST-Women is hybrid by construction. It runs 12 months beside a job or a degree, through your Hochschule, rather than through a Kreuzberg campus.
UnternehmerTUM’s Incubator (the old XPLORE Freerider URL now lands here) is explicit: hybrid, equity-free, Munich and Garching, and some on-site sessions where at least one teammate must show up. ZOLLHOF’s incubation page describes a six-month personalized program in Nuremberg and does not call itself remote. If Haus says remote and the operator names a building, the building wins. Confirm the format line on the current cycle page.
When you still need to be in the city
Berlin is still the city where a lot of collisions happen in person. Grace will not take you unless you live there. A lot of corporate pilots still want a week in the partner’s building. If your bottleneck is a co-founder, the first ten hires, or a room that already knows your ICP, a remote curriculum will not replace that. The Berlin program list is the place to see those residence rules in one view.
Use the remote programs filter as a first cut, then open the official format line. Stay home while the work is a grant file, a mentor hour, or a US market map. Travel when the next customer, stipend, or lab actually requires you on site. Format is a field you can check in ten minutes, and it will tell you whether a move is required.
