Program Context

Start-a-Factory in Berlin supports startups and SMEs in hardware development with modern technical infrastructure and the expertise of Fraunhofer IZM. The program provides access to high-tech equipment, a network of scientists and cooperation partners – while fully protecting the intellectual property of the teams. A special feature is its individualized approach: development teams work independently but receive targeted support as needed. In a joint workshop, the effort is estimated, with costs varying depending on the teams' own contributions.
